Will Tariffs Affect My Flooring Purchase?

We get asked this a lot. Will tariffs increase the cost of flooring? The good news is that for most customers, tariffs won’t hold up your flooring dreams. Here’s what we’re seeing in the industry and what to expect:

Carpet
About 85 percent of carpet is made in Dalton, Georgia, the carpet capital of the world. That means nearly all of our residential and commercial carpet options are not impacted by tariffs.

Luxury Vinyl Plank and Laminate
Some brands have seen slight increases due to tariffs, but most have adjusted production or sourcing to keep prices affordable. Many manufacturers stocked up ahead of tariff changes, so we have not seen widespread price hikes. That could change if supply tightens.
Bonus: Brands like COREtec now make much of their luxury vinyl plank in Georgia, with up to 60 million square feet on hand and no tariff impact!

Hardwood
Many of our hardwood lines come from the United States and Canada. These are exempt from tariffs thanks to the United States Mexico Canada Agreement, so their prices remain stable.

The market is always shifting, but for now, flooring prices remain steady and accessible. If you are ready to start a project, now is a great time!
