Prepping for Carpet Installation

Review these helpful tips on how to prepare for carpet installation by Koebers.

Furniture Moving:

The rooms will need to be empty of furniture to properly install to manufacturer’s warranty specs. We power stretch from wall to wall all installations. Don’t panic though, our employee installers will help move large items of furniture (beds, sofas, tables, dressers, etc). We ask that you prepare by moving small items such as electronics, knick knacks, and breakables (lamps, picture frames, china, books off the shelves, and more). Ask for special details about Ikea furniture, excessively large items such as pool tables, grandfather clocks, sleep number beds, and pianos which require other instruction.

Closet Preparation:

We need about 3 feet of clearance on the floor of all closets. No need to move hanging items if we have clearance below.

Home Temperature Details:

Keep your home at a minimum of 68 degrees to promote a good stretch on the carpet during installation.

Driveway or Garage Access:

We do not need access to your garage or driveway to cut carpet. We make all cuts at our warehouse prior to arrival on installation day. Allowing access to your driveway or street parking to unload carpet and tools is helpful.

Helpful Tips:

-          To help reduce dust from removal of old carpet, vacuum prior to removal.

-          Due to the nature of our work, keep children and pets clear of all work areas.

-          If you are removing your existing carpet, neatly cut and roll into sections of 40lbs or less prior to installers arrival.
