2018 sPRING CHARITY
Usually we host a fundraiser or drop off site for a local non-profit at our customer appreciation events. For our spring event, instead of a donation item we encourage you to volunteer your TIME. Many local organizations are in need of volunteers. We ask you to take an hour of your time to volunteer at a local non-profit in need. If all of our attendees volunteer just one hour, we will provide over 400 hours to our community! Here are just a few incredible organizations in need of volunteers...
Homeplate for homeless youth
During HomePlate's drop-in hours, a meal is served for 40-60 people (including volunteers). They rely on generous volunteer support to provide these meals and to interact with the youth by serving the meal. Dinner groups are typically served by 4-8 volunteers. Koeber's has served as a group in the past and it is a wonderful way to give back.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCE CENTER
Volunteer as a receptionist, counselor, or provide child care at the kids club. This non-profit wants to put an end to domestic violence.
Beaverton PAL is a youth enrichment program. Thier afterschool program is at Chehalem Elementary School and the Boxing program is located at THPRD Garden Home. Volunteer with them by playing on the playground, hoops on the blacktop, playing chess, singing karaoke, or helping with homework. If you have boxing experience, they always welcome coaches at the boxing program.
From the youngest child in need of school clothes to adults seeking financial support for trade degree, and assault survivors in emergency rooms, Assistance League helps all. Contact them for volunteer opportunities.
