What about my furniture?
You will be responsible for removing as much furniture out of the room as possible. All small items, breakables, antiques, and electronics must be moved prior to installer arrival. We will help with your large items that you are unable to move - remember large items require two people to move.
How long will the installation take?
Each job must be assessed individually. When an in-home estimate is given, they will go over timing with you at that point.
What if the installers find dry rot?
We will inform you immediately. You will be responsible for having repairs made before floor covering can be further installed.
What if I want to pull up my own carpet and pad?
You can save money if you decide to pull up and dispose of your existing carpet and pad. We charge $1.50/yard to do this (.75 for pulling up and .75 for disposal). Pulled up carpet must be completely removed, including metals at doorways, staples, and small chunks of pad or carpet from under staples. All tack strips can be left - we will replace what is necessary at time of installation. All areas must also be swept or vacuumed.
If you would like us to dispose of existing carpet and pad, it must be in the garage or driveway and in
manageable size pieces, weighing no more than 30 pounds per piece.
Do I have to stay home during installation?
No. We are fully licensed and bonded to be working in your home. As long as you are there to let the installers in or arrange for them to get in and lock up upon completion, you do not need to be there. It is a good idea to leave a number for the installers to reach you, should an emergency arise.
Will my doors swing properly with the height of my new carpet or floor?
This depends on many variables. You may
need to have some doors trimmed down upon job completion. This will be your responsibility.
Will there be any scraps left after installation?
All "foot wiper" sized pieces will be left for your convenience.
Are there any harmful chemicals in my new flooring?
No. All flooring materials used by Koeber's are safe for in-home installation.
